Everything you need to know about our summer league
Season Overview
The WeRise Summer Swim League season typically runs from early June through mid-July. This includes:
- 5-6 weeks of regular season dual meets
- League Championship meet
- End-of-season awards ceremony and celebration
Each team holds their own practice schedule, usually 3-5 days per week during the morning hours. Contact your specific team for practice times and locations.
Championship Meet
The WeRise Summer Swim League Championship Meet will be held at the UNF Competition Pool Complex, a world-class aquatic facility at the University of North Florida.

With 1000+ in attendance, including North Florida area swim clubs, coaches, officials, athletes and their families, this is the premier event of the summer season!

All pools are 25-yard/meter competition pools with appropriate lane configurations for swim meets.
Rules and Regulations
Our league follows established rules covering eligibility, age groups, competition standards, and code of conduct. All swimmers, parents, and coaches are expected to review and follow these guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Inclusive Swimming for All
WeRise Summer Swim League proudly welcomes athletes with intellectual or physical impairments. There are no age requirements for these swimmers - we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the joy of competitive swimming.

Frequently Asked Questions
Swimmers should bring: team swimsuit, goggles (plus a backup pair), team cap, towels, sunscreen, snacks and water, a chair or blanket for waiting between events, and any comfort items. Arrive at least 30 minutes before warm-ups begin.
Coaches handle event entries based on swimmer ability, practice attendance, and developmental goals. Swimmers are typically entered in 2-4 individual events per meet. Contact your team coach if you have questions about your child's events.
Our league welcomes swimmers of all abilities! Swimmers should be able to complete at least one length of the pool unassisted. Coaches will work with beginners on stroke development and place them in appropriate events.
Regular dual meets typically last 1-2 hours. Championship meets may last 2-4 hours. Warm-ups usually begin 30-45 minutes before the official start time. Plan to stay for the entire meet to support your team!
No, swimmers may only compete for one team during the summer league season.
Swimming continues in light rain. For lightning or severe weather, the pool will be cleared and the meet delayed. If conditions don't improve, meets may be rescheduled. Check your team's communication channels for updates.
Volunteer requirements vary by team, but parent involvement is essential for running successful meets. Common volunteer positions include timers, runners, concessions, and setup/cleanup. Check with your team for specific requirements.
Registration is handled by each individual team. Contact the league or your preferred team directly for registration information, deadlines, and fees. Registration typically opens in late spring before the summer season begins.
